Professional:
From 1979 to present Mr. Graysen has practiced exclusively criminal defense. He has handled over 5,000 criminal cases, at state and federal levels, mostly in the Los Angeles area, but also including cases throughout California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Illinois, New York, Texas, Flordia, Mississipi, New Mexico, Cambodia, Paris and London.
He has handled over 100 jury trials, including 13 death penalty cases. It is important to note that all the death penalty cases were dismissed before, during or after trial. He also handled an 11 week Federal Trial. That trial was an international drug money laundering case that began in Afghanistan with the Taliban, then to the Mafia of Istanbul, then to Europe and finally to the United States. There were 47 witnesses from 9 countries and 43,000 documents.
Felony trials have included: murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, rape, criminal threats , hate crimes, drug sales, drug possession for sale, fraud, embezzlement, sex crimes and others.
Misdemeanors trials have included: DUI, domestic violence, burglary, guns and prostitution among many others.
Judicial Service:
Mr. Graysen served as a judge Pro Tem for eight years, two years as Head Judge Pro Tem in the Western Judicial District of the County of Los Angeles . Mr. Graysen heard Small Claim cases, Small Claims Appeals, Mandatory Settlement Conferences, and Criminal cases.
Bar Service:
Served on the Board of Directors of the Santa Monica, Century City and Beverly Hills Bar Associations.
Political Service:
Ran for California State Senator from 44th California Senate District. Active in fund raising for local, state and national candidates.
Married to Dr. Susan Graysen, has two children, Broc, an engineer and Elizabeth a homemaker.
